According to the DfE census, close to 200,000 people work in admin and other non-teaching-related support functions in schools and central administrations. Networking opportunities and knowledge-building opportunities between people working in different schools and academies exist. Very often however these come with requirements or can only be accessed by paying more or less expensive membership fees.
Fees exist because creating a network is difficult and comes at a cost – even this site costs money and time to host and maintain. However this base cost is reasonable, and as long as what most of us are looking for is basic networking opportunities and knowledge sharing opportunities, a shoe-string solution is all we need.
Are you one of those 200,000 working in non-teaching or teaching support roles in a school or a MAT in England, and are you looking to connect with colleagues from across other schools and MATs, to exchange experiences, take advantage of their knowlege or contribute your own? Then register your membership for free and decide for yourself how much you want to or don’t want to contribute, how much you want to receive updates or not, who you want to reach out to or not.
However new or experienced you are, whatever your main activity in the school, you will have experiences to share that will be helpful for others – so please do! The more we are each willing to share what we know, the more value we will all receive.
For now, quite a lot of the content and links will be centrally generated, but we hope that will soon change as people experience the value of working together to support the delivery of the best education to all pupils in England.
